Hi, As I understand you have got an iPod Touch(either 1st generation or 2nd generation). And when you were playing the music, the display went blank. Well not to worry, it seems like your iPod is just frozen and all you need to do to fix this issue is to RESET you iPod. The question now arises is How to Reset the iPod Touch. Well its very simple. You can see an ON/OFF button(Sleep/Wake Button) at the top left hand corner of your iPod Touch and there is a Home Button(Menu Button) at the bottom. All you need to do is just press and hold both the button together at the same time and keep holding it for 10 to 15 seconds until you see an apple logo showing in the iPod display. When you see the apple logo , let go your fingers from these buttons and wait for some times. The apple logo will then disappear and then you will find the regular home screen of your iPod. As simple as that!

Hello, I'm at a complete loss. My wife is running XP SP3 and has an 8 gig iPod touch. It has been some time (probably about two months) since it was synced with her computer. She wanted an iPod shuffle for working out, so I made an additional music library just for the shuffle, and synched it. A couple days later, she wanted a new app on her itouch, but when it was connected to the computer via the USB port (regardless which port), the computer will not detect the iPod. The iPod works perfectly and will charge when attached to the computer via the USB cord; however, the iPod does not show up in explorer, or device manager. I have tried upgrading to the newest itunes (8.2.1.6), and I've reset the iPod. As a side note, I also have an itouch (32gig), that is not detected by the computer either (even with AV software disabled) even though the shuffle instantly shows up when plugged in.

Sorry, I realized after reading my post that it isn't clear which iPod I'm having problems with, the shuffle connects perfectly, but the itouch does not.

I tried to update the USB driver as suggested, but the iPod doesn't show up in the device manager at all- in the USB devices, or the disk drives???

so i was having issues getting some of my music from my itunes to my i pod touch. itunes told me i had to reset and restore my ipod to have it work for me. so i had clicked the restore button then it said that there was an error and my ipod could not be restored. error 1604 to be exact. now my ipod is stuck in limbo. so now i cant restore it til it resets, i cant resync it til it restores, and i cant reset til i handle this error 1604 business. what do you suggest?
i have tried to fix my ipod touch (1st gen) as it is dead, black screen, nothing works, It has been taken care of, havent dropped it , it has a case, etc. can i get help, any other suggestions? Ok so I got my Ipod Touch like...mabe 5 months ago, and I just pulled it out a few days ago and when I try to turn it on it goes to the Apple for like 5 seconds, then white quick, then black, then goes all over again non-stop unless I turn it off. I really need help!

Hi, I have an ipod touch 1st generation which has a peculiar problem. I plugged it in to charge the other night which it started but then the screen froze on the Apple Icon and has a start-up icon just below it too - when I tried the reset buttons it did not clear and remains that way. Any help is appreciated.

Hello, I have an Ipod touch 32gb, like most above I need a reset. Mine will not come on or reset using itunes. The most I get out of the screen is when I plug it up to the computer. The drivers and everything else works fine, I've changed ports & cords so I'm still at a lose. Is there another program i can use to do the reset? I'm not sure the top button is working correctly either.
